Svetlana Slapšak is professor of Anthropology of Ancient Worlds, Anthropology of Gender and Balkanology, Dean of ISH (Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis), Ljubljana Graduate School of Humanities since 2003, Director of Institute for Balkan and Mediterranean Studies and Culture (IBAMESC), Ljubljana, Editor-in-chief of ProFemina, quarterly for women’s studies and culture, Beograd, since 1994. She was trained in Ancient Studies, MA and PhD in Historical Linguistics-Semantics. Active participant in human rights and freedom of expression movements in Yugoslavia since 1968.
